Born into a large family of performers, Justin and his six sibling were raised by their mother (who’s half sister is actress Kyra Sedgwick) and has said that his family has “always created together.” His R&B singer brother, George gained mainstream popularity with his 2007 single “Lie to Me”. Justin began song writing at only 12 years old and some of these pieces, such as Supposed to Grow Old, were released on his first album, proving his exceptional talent. Justin attended St. Andrews College in his adolescent years where he learned to play guitar from classmates. He then continued on to the Etobicoke School of Arts, which he graduated from in 2007. Following his graduation, Jason recorded songs with Universal Records producer Bill Bell. This led the company to offer him a deal to sign with the label. However, Justin impressively declined the offer deciding that he wanted to “record an album on his own with his own freedom.” He then went on to license with Coalition Entertainment Records (Warner Music) in Canada and Glassnote Records in the US.
